Xeelee Vengeance

Just finished the new Stephen Baxter book "Xeelee Vengeance", and it inspired 4 paintings / designs. Books are always a great source of inspiration, and I highly recommend Stephen's work, great hard scifi.

Inc The Book Tutorials

A few people have asked what making of material will come with the Inc book. Our "Making Of" articles will be digital, so in the book will be links to the following...

1) Scale Comparison
2) Character Turntables
3) Designing Inc The Robot (Design, Modeling, Texture)
4) Costume Design Using Photo Collage
5) 3d Sketches As A Base For A Painting
6) Color Sketches To Final Rendering
7) Layers Breakdown Inc Poster 1
8) Layers Breakdown Inc Coral Desert Wandering 2
9) The Big Shapes Designing The Alien Mothership

8 of the 9 "Making Of"'s have videos, and each comes with long written components with tons of pictures. Hopefully they will give you some good insight into the processes we used to make the artwork for the book.

Since we're now above 50% funded for "The Story of Inc" kickstarter, here's a video tutorial showing a photo collage technique we used to develop some of the unique costumes.

There's another hour and a half of similar tutorials linked to from the book, so please help us get the book funded!

We Are Half Way There!

Last night we hit the 50% funded mark, all in the first 6 days! Thank you so much to everyone who has contributed to the book, or helped spread the word.

Now let's bring it home, the middle part of a kickstarter campaign is the toughest because traditionally the pledges really slow down, with a final upswing in the last days of the campaign. Let's break that mold and get the book funded early, I bet we can do it by the end of the week!

So if you're on the fence or haven't had a chance yet to order your copy, now is a great time to join in. You can order a copy for as little as $20+shipping.

Tomorrow we'll be posting a tutorial on how we made some of the art for the book project.

Thanks again!

We have passed the 25% funded mark in a little over a day!

We've passed the 25% funded mark on the Inc Book Project Kickstarter in just a little over a day! Thank you everyone for your awesome support! As promised, the first stretch goal at 25% is a new Inc image. The 50% mark will get both another new image, as well as a video tutorial showing how we made the artwork for the book, so tell your friends, and let's make it to goal #2! And thanks for being a part of The Story Of Inc!

This is Inc's “Alas, poor Yorick” moment. Confronted with the fact that there's very little that sets Inc apart from a pile of robot parts, he has to question his place in the universe, does he have a greater purpose beyond serving humans?

To find out, get your copy of "The Story of Inc" narrative artbook for $20+shipping:
